A: Disabled American Veterans
Q: Where can I drop off donations?
A: At our store, 2627 E.
University Ave, Des Moines, Iowa. About 10 blocks west of the
Iowa State Fairgrounds.
Q: When can I drop off donations?
A: Tuesday through Saturday, 8am to 3pm
Q: How do I get donations picked up at
my house or business?
A: you can call (515)-262-4740 or
e-mail the pickup
service for free pickup. For more
info click here.
Q: How much does a donation pickup cost?
A: Nothing, it is a free service we offer to you just for donating.
Q: In what areas do you pickup
donations?
A: We pickup donations all around the Des Moines metro area and some
of the outlying smaller communities. Just call our pickup office
at (515)-262-4740 or you can
e-mail them to find out if our trucks come to your location.
Q: When do you pickup donations?
A: Donations are picked up Monday through Friday 8am until all
scheduled donations are picked for that day. There are a few
exceptions such as weather and vehicle breakdown.
Q: What items do you take for donations?
A: We are able to take most items that are not considered harmful or
dangerous. For a more complete list check out

Q: Who can shop at the D.A.V. Thrift
Store?
A: We are open to the public, you do not need any special
affiliation or membership to shop here.
Q: When are you open for shopping?
A: Monday through Saturday, 8am to 7:30pm.
Q: How do I get there?
A: Go to our directions
page and it will use Google to map your directions automatically,
just tell it where you are and it does the rest.
Q: Where do the profits go?
A: All money above and beyond operating expenses go to Disabled
American Veterans chapters 20 and 53.
Q: Are there any other D.A.V. Thrift
Stores in the Des Moines area?
A: No, we have one location with one big sales floor to give you the
most selection and best price.
